Can Amazon and Walmart Disrupt the Shipping Business?
Both retail giants are taking their own approach at how to tackle the issues providing higher levels of delivery service to its customers and attempting to do it without additional costs often associated with shipping companies like FedEx and UPS. Amazon has taken an approach that encourages entrepreneurs to build networks to work with Amazon Shipping services that remove some of the “extra” fees that traditional shipping companies often hit the customer with for deliveries to homes or during the holiday peak seasons while Walmart has taken a much more traditional approach by going on a hiring spree over the past year (1,400 drivers) and plans to continue hiring “hundreds” more this year.
